eMentoring outreach initiatives during the Covid-19 Pandemic

Under this program 10 schools from our ‘1Lab- 1School’ project and 6 schools from the ‘C minus 4’ project participants connected with our Mentors for online sessions.

Over 70 Class IX & Class X students attended these sessions. Around 30 Mentors who are Graduate students from IIT Madras volunteered to mentor the rural school children.

Over a period of 4 months (August – November 2020), Graduate Students of IIT Madras (Mentors) provided the class IX and X rural school students Everyday Science, Device-Based Science, Communication Skills, Google Slides Technical Training, Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Teaching Skills Training. Using inspiring stories, fun games, quiz, interactive presentations as the means to motivate the children, so far around 30 Mentors have mentored over 70 rural students. We hope to help more students from remote locations until schools reopen for regular visits.
